Ethnographic research with survivors and practitioners consists of informal interviews and spending time with people in their own workplaces or homes.
Our aim is find out what meanings people find in their experiences of trauma and recovery or ‘living with’ the after-effects of abuse.
What do they think and feel about supports and barriers in their relationships, in relation to money and practical circumstances, or in relation culture, politics, in the broader society, in organisations or in their personal worlds? By spending time with people, we hope to deepen our understanding of how to support recovery in contemporary Britain and Ireland.
